MEDIN Workshop

Earlier this month (Nov 2nd) I attended the MEDIN workshop held at the IoE in London. MEDIN is a standard for marine research data sets and C4D is likely to use it as a basis for the metadata that it will develop. MEDIN already has many of the characteristics that C4D hopes to include but by the look of thinsgs there will need to be some additional fields to be added, particularly in with respect to related data ( for example projects and people, which can be accommodated, but currently only on text fields I think).

It was a really useful workshop and as newcomer to the field I was made to feel very welcome.
